Dress  SheInside / SHOES Soludos NECKLACE H&M (old) BAG H&M / SUNNIES Ray Bans

I first fell in love with this dress at Zara, but hesitated to buy it, as I do all too frequently with things at Zara. Any regular Zara shopper knows that their inventory moves quickly, meaning their most popular items/sizes sell out extremely fast. The season kind of passed but I was still thinking about how I should've-would've-could've bought this dress. A month-ish before our trip to Turkey, during my 'omg I need a whole new wardrobe for my vacation' frenzy, I found this exact replica on SheInside. I'd heard of the website before on other blogs, but was admittedly a little distrusting because of the really low prices, one size only dresses, and pictures that were sometimes straight from the Zara website. I took a risk and ordered it (along with some other things, of course, that unfortunately didn't fit as well).

 photo IMG_7588_zpsa82052c6.jpg

I'm not sure I would order from SheInside again, but I will admit it's pretty tempting. For $25, this dress ended up fitting great, and the material doesn't feel too cheapy. Shipping is free worldwide, but it did take about 3-4 weeks.

Have you guys ordered from SheInside before? Let me know your thoughts! Thanks for reading!

The Black Jumpsuit / Istanbul

 photo IMG_7127_zps69d84198.jpg photo IMG_7229_zps5302c59c.jpg

Normally, I find myself striving to add layers and dimensions to my outfits to make them more interesting and unique. But while on vacation I find nothing more practical than wearing dresses. This black jumpsuit was just that- such an easy piece to style that I felt pangs of regret for not wearing it sooner (one of those things that sat in my closet with the tag for a longgg time before finally seeing the light of day- and that too in Istanbul! Lucky jumpsuit!).

JUMPSUIT  H&M, also love this casual, open back jumpsuit from Zara & this more dressy one shoulder jumpsuit from ASOS /  BAG Nine west SANDALS Sam Edelman via Piperlime SUNNIES Ray Bans / NAILS Color Club "Hot Pink"
 photo IMG_7458_zpsd5d4534b.jpg

I wore this outfit for our first day exploring the popular sights in Istanbul- the Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque; both of which were spectacular and beautiful in their own ways. At sunset we took a ferry trip down the Bosphorous to Ortakoy- one of my favorite memories from the entire trip. The town was sprawling with jewelry stands and waterside dining options, aka I was in heaven. I threw on a white linen button down (left it unbuttoned) over the jumpsuit since it cooled off a bit in the evenings.

Stay tuned for more outfits from the trip! Thanks for reading!

Summer Vacation

Once you enter the 9 to 5 world, summer vacation becomes a thing of the past- one reserved only to refer to fond childhood memories. Gone is the anticipation of the last day of school, of playful summer camp, of a break. I've come to terms with this, just as I've come to terms with my blaring alarm clock that goes off at 6:00 am, every.day. That being said, I'm slowly learning that I still need to find time to step back and take a break. Sometimes, shutting down for a short while allows you to return with fresh eyes and a more open mind.

We were lucky enough to take a literal vacation at the end of summer, to a place I'd wanted to visit so badly: Istanbul. To say the least, it surpassed our expectations in every facet. We were left stunned by the history, the culture, the food, the people, the shopping (!!), and the sights.

 photo IMG_7274_zps10681f72.jpg

I took a couple weeks off after the trip to unwind (a vacation after a vacation: necessary), but now I'm back, and will be sharing some pics from the trip on the blog! They won't be my typical outfit posts. I was far too overwhelmed and excited to be patient enough for that, but I hope you guys enjoy this glimpse into our trip regardless! As always, thanks so much for reading!

Festival Wear

SWEATER J Crew SKIRT American Eagle BAG Steve Madden / SUNNIES Ray Bans

A couple weekends ago we did a road trip to Burlington for the Vermont Brewer's Festival. The festival took place along the lake on a beautiful summer evening- the perfect opportunity for us to catch one of Lake Champlain's famed sunsets. I wanted to make sure I was comfortable enough to explore the town all day and also prepared for the slight chill that was expected to come off the lake in the evening, so I paired a low maintenance J Crew sweater with a fun patterned summer skirt from American Eagle.

Have you guys been attending any festivals this summer? What have you been wearing? Thanks for reading!

Summer In Full Swing

 photo IMG_6226_zpscc2f9e4e.jpg photo IMG_6236_zps869fb452.jpg photo IMG_6222_zps6a1fb2f7.jpg photo IMG_6232_zpsd1304771.jpg

Summer is in full swing, literally and in my wardrobe! We all know dresses are the go-to move in the summertime: barely there, one piece,  throw it on, easy peasy. This summer I've been infatuated with ASOS's collection of swing dresses. While they can be considered shapeless, I appreciate the drapey, loose fit especially during the heatwave (and while consuming mass amounts of ice cream...). Plus I think they can be sexy in their own simple way. A side bag, aviators, and Tom's, were all I needed to add to this outfit on a Sunday to spend hours exploring Central Park.

The tiered swing dress that I'm wearing from ASOS is fun and casual, but there literally is a swing dress on ASOS for every occasion. If the tiers don't do it for you, here's a simple sleeveless version of the one I'm wearing- and in this adorable floral print, ah! I've already decided to buy this sexy strappy cami swing dress, perfect for a date night at the beach. A little boho chic action with this paisley print dress. Last but not least, this adorable lace number in navy is classic and cute.

What do you guys think about swing dresses? Have you been wearing them this summer?

Hope you all have a great week! Thanks for reading!

Skirt or Short

 photo Edit-IMG_64091_zps4064d8cf.jpg photo Edit-IMG_64123_zps7e96e744.jpg

TOP J.Crew SHORTS H&M, old but another awesome pair here BAG Aldo SHOES Zara, similar here or a fun bright pair here / SUNNIES Ray Bans / NAILS Revlon "Spirit"

This pair of high-waisted shorts, that falls more like a skirt, has been one of my longest standing favorite pieces. I wear them in the winter with tights, the summer with a tan, dress them up at night to go out, or keep it casual for dinner down the shore like I did this past weekend. I'm pretty sure blush and gold will always be one of my favorite color combinations. Add a fresh summer tan & white hot nails to the mix, and you've got yourself a killer summer combo.

Happy Summer! It finally feels like Summer here in NYC so I'm feeling the need to savor every single moment, basking in the sun, eating meals outside, walking along the water. It only seems right to dress exclusively in summer dresses! I bought this floral dress from Urban Outfitters a couple months ago in anticipation for the summer. The 'skater' cut and shape is extremely flattering, similar to this dress I've worn many times before. I was really in the mood to keep the look as feminine and flirty as possible, so I paired it with just a dainty bracelet and simple rings. Dresses like this one are easy to dress up or down, making them the perfect summer staple!

Hi loves! Sorry for the brief hiatus! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw the flood of   colorful, fun pictures from my brother's wedding. I had an amazing month celebrating with my family and could not be happier for my brother & his wife as they start their life together! But alas, I am back to blogging and well, hellooo summer. It's still consistently rainy here in NYC though, so I thought I'd post an easy transitional outfit made up of wardrobe staples.

Statement Skirt

 photo IMG_5987_zpsf20a5d45.jpg photo IMG_6004_zps0e9b37a6.jpg
I splurged & bought this Zara skirt on my birthday last December (outfit instagrammed here).  Sequins were everywhere last winter and I knew I would break eventually- I'm just glad defeat turned out to be in the form of this skirt. While I'm no longer seeing the same slew of sequined skirts in stores, I am seeing a lot of playful floral, tribal, striped, patterned mini skirts. Before, I used to automatically associate these "Statement Skirts" with heels, a strappy tank, a clutch, and a night out. But now I've been loving the more casual, daytime look: like playing down a sequined skirt with Toms & a light wash denim jacket.

What do you guys think about statement skirts for summer? Are you going to give them a try?

DRESS Random boutique in SF, but love this high/low option / CHAMBRAY American Apparel, last seen here / JACKET JCrew (old), similar here and here  HEELS Zara, cute wedge version, here BAG Nine West, similar here NECKLACE H&M, Anne Taylor

One of my favorite ways to wear this light weight utility jacket in the spring is over an easy, breezy, silky dress. I decided to have some fun with it today (it is the weekend after all!) and played around with different patterns/textures/layers: polka dots, chambray, gold details, layered necklaces, color blocked sandals. I'm thinking of pairing the jacket with a flowy lace dress next, and also eyeing this camo utility jacket, hmm. Happy weekend- enjoy it! :)

DRESS Urban Outfitters / JACKET H&M, no longer available, but similar here and here / BAG H&M / BOOTS ASOS, similar here

I came across this fun, flirty little skater dress on a random trip to Urban Outfitters a couple weeks ago. It's so effortless and like a blank slate, can be manipulated in so many different ways. I loved pairing it with this bomber and chelsea boots for an edgier look. Also dressed it up last month in Vegas, instagrammed here, with a chunky statement necklace from Zara. The dress comes in like a billion different colors, and since I loved the fit so much, I also snagged it in this short sleeve floral pattern.

If you're anything like me, you might feel the need to buy yourself an entirely new wardrobe every time the seasons change. This is a problem (first step: admitting it?). Instead, it might be better on your wallet and your closet to revive your existing classics with one bold new piece. I was attracted to the cool blue funky floral pattern of this bomber in H&M, and paired it with an easy mix of chic classics: a chambray button down, skinny jeans, and pointed heels. If the bomber is too funky for you, try this outfit with a more classic cut floral blazer- two of my favorites here- from Zara & J Crew

Boyfriend Jeans

 photo IMG_5171_zpsc6577f10.jpg photo IMG_5209_zps9889e35e.jpg photo IMG_5202_zps8ff8060b.jpg

LEATHER JACKET Zara / JEANS J Crew, really similar here / SILK CAMI Aritzia, here / HEELS Target, unfortunately sold out, but still on ebay, here / SUNNIES  Forever 21 / BAG H&M

These J Crew boyfriend fit jeans were buried in the depths of my jean drawer for over a year - taken with me to San Francisco, back to New York, and worn just once. I admit bf jeans are a tough trend to rock. Giving up your naturally feminine shape for a more laid-back slouchy style is not always the most appealing. Pairing them with a structured jacket and strappy heeled sandals, however - game. changer. The structured jacket is a necessary contrast to the jeans, and the heels are just so sexy. I've been seeing jackets and heeled sandals everywhere lately, and just can't get enough. A couple of my favorites: these color blocked Zara heeled sandals - just bought them in black!; these Steve Madden heeled sandals - they come in so many fun colors; and this H&M biker style jacket

What do you guys think- have you given bf jeans a try?

I was looking for the last time I posted about this sweater on the blog, and turns out it was this same day one year ago! Love coincidences like that! Also love wearing these gold heels with distressed denim jeans for a casual and fun spring look.

Happy weekend loves!
