Beach Inspired

Top: Topshop, Shorts: American Eagle, Belt&Bracelets&Rings: H&M, Earrings: Forever 21
I don't know if this is just me, but recently I've been ditching my old beach cover ups/dresses and instead going with the crop top and light washed denim shorts look. I love how certain tops look over a bathing suit, and my love affair with light washed denim shorts can definitely be attributed to their summery feel. The denim shorts were not the most practical when I got splashed by a huge wave- they took forever to dry- but I still loved wearing them!

Thanks for reading guys :)

A Mexican Holiday- Cabo

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I spent this last week in Cabo with my good friend Vida. I'm happy to report that our resort did resemble the picture in the previous post. Our activities consisted of the normal resort vacation activities (you know, pool, beach, eating, sleeping..), but seeing as we were both anxious to play around with our DSLR's, we added in a few of our own picture taking excursions as well.  Here are some of my favorite moments that we were able to capture-
One Attempting to find a good spot to take a picture and getting completely blind sighted by a wave.

Two Trying every flavor daiquiri at the pool bar, and finally deciding Mango was the best
Three Complementing our bathing suits with fun, summer jewelry
Four Watching the waves crash on the rocks at the Cabo arches

Five Complimentary bottle of champagne.. perks?
Six Using all the skills we learned in our DSLR classes to try to capture the beauty of the sun setting on Cabo :)

Overall, a very successful trip. I'll be posting an outfit post later on tonight or tomorrow!

BRB

Incase you guys get worried sometime next week and wonder where I have disappeared to, I will (hopefully) be somewhere that resembles this:
Cabo?
So don't worry, I'll be thinking of you guys too! And will give you souvenirs in the form of some fun blog posts soon :)

Pleated

Top: TopShop, Skirt: H&M, Rings: H&M, Shoes: Johnston&Murhy, Bag: Aldo

This outfit embodies (almost) everything I am loving about this summer season: pleats, bright orange, color blocking, and wedges.
Did I mention pleats? I need to control myself and not buy 10 different pleated skirts. It's just so difficult to resist the feminine texture they add to outfits. Not to mention how airy and silky they feel on your legs. No wonder I wore this outfit for like three days straight..

As always, thanks for reading! :)

Carrying On

{Pink Moleskin & Pink Sharpie: I have random thoughts}

{Clinique's High Definition Mascara: 6 hours of flying.. Need I say more?}
{Benefit's Something About Sofia perfume: Easy to travel with and smells light and amazing}

{Re-reading Pride and Prejudice: The perfect past time for the plane}

It's been kind of crazy here lately. My brothers engagement party was this past weekend (yay!) and I'm flying out to San Francisco tomorrow to go apartment hunting! I'm currently in a packing frenzy, but wanted to share a few things that I am going to throw in my carry on bag. Hope you guys enjoyed reading! I'll be back next week, hopefully with some pictures to share from SF :)

What are some things you guys absolutely have to travel with?

Target- Black candle sticks, $7 each//TJ Maxx- Cynthia Rowley bowls, $8 total; Small bowl, $3; Orange vase, $3; Blue bottle $3
Recently it seems that I can't keep myself from buying things to decorate my future apartment. Since I haven't really had my own place to decorate before (not counting college dorms), I'm still exploring and seeing what my style really is. Luckily, I  didn't have to spend too much money because I picked up these cute little things at TJ Maxx and Target.
This little bowl is my baby now. I absolutely love the color and the design. I think it'll be perfect for holding
rings and assorted jewelry. Now lets just hope it doesn't break before it gets to San Francisco.

It was impossible to walk away from the book section in TJ Maxx- most of these books were $3 each! The cute cards on the top from the Green-Inspired line at Target were a little treat to myself :)
My cousin actually bought me this San Francisco book for graduation, but I thought it deserved a little shout out because I have literally been reading it every night and making lists of things I want to do when I get to SF. This book makes me really excited when I start feeling sad to leave my family and friends. I really recommend this book if you are even visiting SF. The pictures, descriptions, and the places it mentions are fantastic!
Sorry if this made you hungry! :)
This baking book from TJ Maxx has really nice pictures, great recipes, and clear instructions- so it's pretty much the perfect baking book. (The cute font is definitely a bonus!). I've always wanted to "cook through a book" so maybe I'll find my way baking through this one and take you guys along for the ride :)
Have you guys found any good steals recently?

Thanks for reading!

Wind Blown

I visited my brothers apartment in Jersey City today and I seriously underestimated the power of the wind. It proved to be a difficult task to find a picture where my face wasn't getting attacked by my hair or I wasn't frantically trying to keep my skirt in place. Maybe wearing a skirt wasn't my brightest idea, but I love the effect of wearing a textured top with a patterned skirt so I couldn't resist!
Checking out the NYC skyline while my brother called me stupid.
Some things never get old.
