Memorial Day Stripes

Dress: H&M, Belt: J Crew, Bag: Aldo, Flip flops: American Eagle, Sunnies: Marc Jacobs, Watch: M.Kors

I forgot I bought this dress last month (H&M) until I was digging through the mountains of clothing in my room looking for something to wear and came across it. Ironically, it was also the day of our Memorial Day bbq, so I felt perfectly patriotic wearing nautical stripes. Also, as you can probably see, I've been having some fun wearing (and photographing) summer accessories. I hope you enjoyed reading!

Some Peachy Pink Fun

I'm currently involved in a borderline-unhealthy obsessive relationship with my nail polish color, and the only logical solution I could think of was to tell you guys about it! This color is Essie's Haute As Hello from last year's summer collection.
Unfortunately, it's one of those polishes that comes out really streaky on the first coat, but by the second coat it looks great. I keep catching myself staring at my nails and daydreaming about how much I love the color... no big deal. While we're on the subject, I've been loving this color in general, and seemed to have centered my makeup routine around it. It makes me feel summery and fun!
(Ignore the bathroom tiles...) Essie Cute As A Button, Essie Haute As Hello, Benefit Coralista, Barry M Peachy Pink
I know I blogged about this Barry M Lip Paint before, #147 Peachy Pink, but I've been wearing it even more recently. Its striking resemblance to the nail polish makes me so happy! It's a really nice shade to wear with just some mascara and a light blush- the perfect summer face.

Have you guys had any summer color obsessions lately?

Breezy

Top: LF, Skirt: Urban Outfitters, Necklace: American Eagle
The sun has finally decided to show itself here in New Jersey! I decided to celebrate this joyous occasion by pairing two delicate pieces for a light and girly look, and added a statement necklace just for kicks and giggles.

Having too much fun with my tripod, clearly.

It must be summer, because lately I've been finding myself wearing simple jewelry and very light makeup. I generally have been wearing either a necklace, earrings, or lots of bangles, but not all three at the same time. I'm enjoying the effortless look, but who knows how long it will last! :)

What summer jewelry have you guys been loving?

Bollywood Dreams

Growing up, I always wanted to be a Bollywood actress. I used to watch Indian movies relentlessly. The same ones over and over again. Now that I have (kind of) come to terms with the reality that my chances of being a Bollywood actress are somewhere between 0-1%, I settle for the simple joy of dressing up like a Bollywood actress and attending events like my cousins wedding this past weekend.

Every actress always seems to have the most fresh and naturally glowing face that matches the delicacy of their beautifully draped saris. So obviously, I had to figure out a way to imitate the look. I decided to try NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural.

After reading many reviews, I had faith that both products would give me the glow I was looking for. What I didn't realize, and was pleasantly surprised by, was how well they photographed! Even when I was under a light, my skins imperfections were not visible. I love the versatility and reliability of these two products: they can be used everyday, as well as for big events.

UK Shopping Spree

It's not like I even needed a reminder of how much I absolutely love the UK, but this past weekend was just that. We went to Liverpool for the weekend to watch the Liverpool Newcastle match, and managed to squeeze some shopping in there too! Unfortunately, it was a short trip. I had to choose between taking pictures of an outfit or shopping some more...and of course I continued shopping.

Every time I feel a twinge of regret for making this decision, I think about all the goodies I came home with...

{Primark, River Island, Topshop, Republic}
{Boots, Superdrug}
Ok, I may have gone on a bit of a shopping spree. At one point, I commented to my boyfriend that I was exercising great self control because I only bought one thing from Topshop- to which he responded with a look like, don't even get me started. I realized the look he gave me was completely valid when I got home and found it impossible to blog about everything I bought! So instead I decided to share three of the beauty items that I actually grabbed last minute at the airport and am absolutely in love with!
(1) Barry M Lip Paint in Peach Pink #147 (2) MeMeMe Blush Me Blush Box in Bronze (3) 17 Blush Powder in Nude
True to its name, this lip paint is the perfect mix of peach and pink. In the tube, it looks a lot pinker than it really is. When it's on, I actually feel like it looks a bit more nude and peach. As for how long these last, I swatched a bunch of these at the airport and the next day I realized I still had them on my hand! I swear I showered. My only regret: I should've bought more!

This blush comes on sheer at first but when layered, the nude and brown pigments can be more clearly seen. There's just the perfect hint of pink. It's perfect for those days when you don't feel like wearing a bold blush, and really good for professional settings.
Not to choose favorites or anything, but this is my absolute favorite product right now! I'm a sucker for browns and bronzes, so naturally I was attracted to this. (Not to mention the adorable packaging that is strikingly similar to Benefit?) So far, I've worn this blush once (the night I bought it) to liven up otherwise simple makeup and it was a great night look.
{Nude, Bronze, Peach Pink}
Excuse my swatch picture, I was having some trouble taking them, and may have settled for one a bit too early.

Anyone have any tips on taking swatch pictures?
